THERAPY FOR MIDLIFE WOMEN IN SAN DIEGO & ONLINE ACROSS CALIFORNIA
The middle of life invites you to become someone new.
Individual therapy for women navigating midlife, shifting identity, and a changing body, with room to figure out who you are now,
not who you were.
THE WORK
You've spent years being who everyone else needed. This chapter asks something different.
The middle of life has a way of loosening things you thought were settled. Your role shifts, your body changes, the people who needed you need you differently, and underneath the competence you've always carried, a question surfaces: what do I actually want now?
Leila Savage works with women in this exact stretch. Not to fix you, because you're not broken, but to give you a thoughtful, honest place to meet yourself at this stage and decide what comes next.
WHAT WE WORK ON
Identity and the shifting self. When the roles that defined you loosen, who's left? Space to sort out what's yours to keep and what you're ready to set down.
A changing body, on your terms. Making peace with a body that's changing, from a place of acceptance rather than shrinking. Body image work that's about being at home in yourself, never about weight loss.
Midlife transitions. Empty nests, aging parents, career shifts, the grief of a life stage ending. Steadiness for the passages that don't come with a map.
Anxiety and the weight of holding it together. For the women who manage everything for everyone and are simply worn thin. A place to set the load down and look at what's underneath.
Relationships and what you need now. How your friendships, marriage, and family fit the person you're becoming, and how to ask for more of what you actually want.
Affirming care for who you are. Every body, identity, and story is welcome here, including LGBTQ+ and queer women. Leila works from warmth and respect, not judgment or a template.
WHO THIS IS FOR
This is for you if you're feeling the shift of midlife and want somewhere honest to explore it. Maybe the roles that defined you are shifting, your relationship with your body is changing, or you've spent years holding it together for everyone and are ready to turn toward yourself.
You don't need to be in crisis. Wanting more than "fine" is reason enough.
HOW IT WORKS
The first step is a free 15-minute consultation. It's a relaxed phone call where you share what you're hoping to work on, Leila describes how she works, and you both get a feel for whether it's a good fit. There's no obligation to continue.
Sessions are held in person in Mission Valley, San Diego, or by telehealth anywhere in California. Individual sessions are $150. Common Ground is a private-pay practice; we don't bill insurance, but we can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement, and a Good Faith Estimate before you begin.
